Weekly Reflective Journal#1

I am my own worst enemy…

It has been four months since I started my journey here in Florida as a cast member in the Walt Disney Company. I have not able to start writing anything because of my procrastination, which is very hard to deal with. I felt like it tripled and time is flying so fast. The next thing I know, it is going to be January and it’s time to say goodbye to my newfound friends and coworkers who taught me different things and shared memorable experience that’s going to last a lifetime.

Well, where do I start? I know this journal is way past due but I am going to do it anyways. Let me start by reminiscing my first week stay here in Florida. The date was June 5th, my first day here in Florida. My program started four days later, June 9th. Why so early? I happened to won four days and three nights stay at Holiday in Kissimmee, which is like 6 miles away from the housing complex Vista. The first thing I realized was the lack of transportation unlike New York City. I do not have a car and it was very difficult to go somewhere and go sightseeing and buy stuff. Luckily, I have a roommate named RJ who I met on Facebook. The rest of my roommates arrived a day before June 9. RJ is from Tampa and just graduated from UCF. He invited me to go visit Magic Kingdom that I declined. I told him I have never been to any Disney parks so I wanted it to be a magical first experience. So instead, we ended up going to Clear Water Beach.

During that first week of stay, I realized that I like the weather but I did not see myself living here in the future. I still love living in New York City. There is no place like home.
