During this week I finished my 5 days of onsite training. It was a really good experience because I learned a lot and different ways to deal with certain situations. At the same time it was difficult to try and grasp everything and have a perfect understanding because I had three different trainers and they each had their own ways of doing things. It was a plus that I learned different way on how to check-in and check-out guest. One of the things that make me a little nervous is guest recovery because I never know when I’m doing too much or too little.
The two classes I’m taking are Human Resources Management and Experiential Learning, each class offers me something different. My Human Resources class it is more educational to me, but my experiential learning class gets me thinking more, although I am learning new things in both classes. One of the most difficult things for me right now is trying to get everything done on time and still have time for a social life.
A lot was covered in this post. So much happens in a week.
First, it will be good to speak with your leaders about how much is too much or to little in regard to guest satisfaction. Everything come with a price so it is vital to know what it is that is acceptable when trying to accommodate guest needs.
Regarding classes, anytime you have to think then you learn. So, as an educator, I like students to really think. The subject matter in HR may be more directly tangible to what you feel is real learning but anytime you are thinking and analyzing you are advancing yourself. It i s all good.
