Journal # 9

Technology its very important especially when It does not work. As we all Disney has one of the most advance network. Its advances are only getting better and current with time. We are now being introduce with the magic risk bands. These advances are made to ensure an easier and better experience for our guest. There are still those guest who have trouble with the bar code cards and I find my self walking  them to there rooms and showing them how to open there doors. Last week LILO was down in our hotel. Lilo is our computer system that tells rooms ready which room is occupied, checking out or in, who is getting what rooms. It was pandemonium at the all stars because things needed to be done old school and by hand. That’s when managers have to put their skills to work. The lesson here is that technology although  is great  there should always be a backup plan for any situation. I find myself learning more and more about the hotel operation even if I am a housekeeper. I decide that even if i don’t exactly love my job i will take as much knowledge as I can from this experience and who knows maybe one day I will be here.
