The HUB journal #9

This HUB system is set in place for all workers and CPs at Disney. It enables you to go online and look at your schedule, request days, check out deals and offers Disney has to offer, view your status card to see how you’re doing when it comes to points you have gained when you called out. You can also request to give away days or pick up shifts. The hub system definitely allows you to do so much, which can be very helpful when you know what you’re doing. For the first time since I have been here at Disney I put in to switch two of my off days.  It wasn’t as hard as I thought once I put in the information they asked for. First I had to put in my name, location and partner number. Then you have to put in the request you want them to honor. The only bad part about putting in a request is it doesn’t automatically guarantee you the days off. What I have learned and had to learn fast is that being a CP you’re last on the list. When it comes to receiving what you ask for a regular worker or even a part time worker request will get honored before yours. It’s a little frustrating when you put in for days off and one to two days later you’re denied and put on a waiting list. That means now it’s up to a manager to honor my request which only makes my job a little harder, but I’m a persistent person I go straight to the source and that’s to the manager who does the scheduling to give me the days off. This first experience of requesting days off on the hub just lets me know this is going to happen a lot more and that only means I’m going to get more familiar with my scheduling manager.   He is the one who gives the final say and I’m ok with that, or at least until he doesn’t honor my request, then that will be another talk we will have when that day comes.

  1. The policy seems pretty fair and is at least open to all who need to make special requests. I have heard many CPs mention the ease of working with the HUB and it seems like it offers a wealth of information.
