Keep It Going – Week 4

I have finally mastered my bus route to work. In the beginning I was always getting lost. For those of us who doesn’t drive, we rely on the buses to get to work; therefore, when the buses are late, we are late.  In my case, the buses are always late so I have to catch an earlier bus everyday to make sure I get to work on time. When it comes to work, I am always scheduled different shifts which make it harder for my body to adjust. One good thing about the schedule is the fact that I always have Mondays and Tuesdays off due to my classes but even that took a while to get it to work out. My managers and I had to sit down and have a talk about my days off. I had expected the classes to be slightly different in comparison to the classes I take back at the college but I was wrong. These Disney classes are very interesting when it comes to the instructor’s style of teaching and the topic of the classes but the work feels like a mission and can be overwhelming sometimes. I been trying many methods to keep myself  on track. I must say, I give my thanks to my roommate Mei and my mother that constantly remind me to just take it day by day, to complete one assignment at a time and most of all, I must stay focus! Every time I think about the amount of assignment I have due, it would make me feel so discourage but I understand that I am doing this for myself. If I don’t fight for it no one else would and for this very reason, I will not lose focus!

  1. Taking an earlier bus in a smart decision because if you are late, you are late. As far as your employer is concerned, being late is not the fault of the bus.

Building your network is important so connecting with Mei is important. As she mentioned in her last post she too is having problems with her schedule so you can give her advise about getting the days off she wants while she reminds you about your course work. Stay focused and strong!

I argree with the employer, just because the bus is late shouldnt be your excuse. i usually take the early bus to get to work, even if i am a 30 minutes early it better then coming in 5 minutes earlier hoping to clock in on time. so i would suggest taking an earlier bus. However, the bus are usually on time, sometimes it may be off by a minute or two which isnt bad.
