Making Magic Happen

This morning I went to Disney’s Animal Kingdom for the first time. It was great and had a good time. Exploring new places and seeing things for the first time is one of the best feelings anyone can have. However, this is not the case that made me feel so emotional and touched. I was on Kali River Rapids. An amazing ride, was really really fun. And I sure got wet, better yet soaked. On the same rapid I was on there was a disabled teen. Who was having a good time and most importantly he was very happy. When the ride was over, because he wanted to go again the cast members let us go again. This is a great demonstration of going above and beyond. Acknowledged by his condition and responding to his request he went again. Thanks to him, so did I. But seeing that smile on his face was one of the best things ever. The more I saw his happiness the happier I got. And the jest the cast members had was very impressive. His dream came true. Being in Disney World and getting to ride the rapid again.

Secondly, I was impressed with the design for the disabled. Especially for those in a wheelchair. Everything was thought about; being near the exit and the ability of getting on and off the ride. In regards, I thought this was the best part of the park and my experience.

  1. It is moments like this that castmembers really shine! It takes a strong policy to allow castmembers to provide this level of service. I respect Disney for making sure this policy exists but more importantly I have the utmost respect for the castmembers who know when to say yes to a guest. Keep making the magic every time you can!!!
