How do we make advertisement true to inclusively 

We are all familiar with ads but, what is the purpose of them. The purpose of advertisement is to persuade their audience to buy a product or service.  Advertisers are tasked with producing campaigns to reaching current and potential clients.  In the past years they have been missing the mark. Why is this? It’s because advertise are basing their information on subjective view rather than facts.  Idealizing the stereotypes surrounding race and ethnicity thus spreading a false narrative. Therefore, we as advertiser and consumer have a responsibility to identify the what is overrepresentation and underrepresent. In order to push for advertisements to truly be inclusively.

    This was very informative and eye-opening. So many hidden layers of racism in advertising have been pushed into the mainstream media. You have to wonder how it was approved to display out into the world. However, it’s good that our society that exists today is making a stand for more inclusion and diversity.

    This was a very interesting topic. Due to how much media we consume daily people are prone to overlooking the blatant racism and stereotypes that these advertisements suggest and feed into people’s subconsciousness. I think it’s important that we talk about these things because this is the media that is shaping the young minds today.
