Live well

Live well

I walk up and down these stairs every day at work. I try to have 10,000 a everyday. But sad to say I don’t make my goal everyday but I try to at least do hit the goal three days out of the week

Live well session 1

Session 1 was great! it taught me a lot about myself. Going through each questions I realized that I want to start to have a healthy lifestyle, my issue is I don’t know to start my healthy  lifestyle.I do believe with the tips from live well I will accomplish my goals, more importantly time management. I work full time and go to school full time I can finally make a schedule to workout and have the time to go food shopping . I’m excited can’t wait for the outcome of everything

LiveWell

After completing the LiveWell session one,  I realized I can commit to fit exercising into my daily schedule without stressing on how these 30 minutes I could have been doing other things on my daily to do list.  I will try my best to eat better, stress less and exercise daily.

Active Minds

Active Minds was founded by Alison Malmon shortly after her older brother Brian, college senior, committed suicide. Active Minds is “trying to change conversation about mental health”.  I think that Active Minds campus chapters should be in every college. Students need support and they need to know that they are not alone when dealing with mental health problems. Couple years ago my friend was very depressed. She was feeling helpless and thought that there is no way out from her situation. She went to see psychologist at the college wellness center. In the middle of conversation when she was crying and explaining to him what’s going on in her life, someone knocked at the door and entered his cabinet. Psychologist told this person: “We are almost done here, just wait outside”. My friend immediately stood up, said “thank you” and left. No need to say that she felt rejected and got depressed even more. I am very glad that my friend found strength to go through this difficult time in her life without doing any harm to herself.

Live Well. Session 1

After the online behavioral evaluation, it became clear that my eating habits as well as stress management skills need no improvement ( maintenance stage). My exercise habits, however, can not be enhanced for a different reason-there are no such ones ( precontemplation stage).  I tried many times to become physically active, but never succeeded. Hopefully, the story will be different this time…

Active Minds

Mental Illness affects many Americans nationwide each year. This organization helps students in need of help that may otherwise be ignored or untreated. When I think of suicidal deaths among campuses, this is a on going problem that many Americans deal with and not understand what it is. Providing awareness, help and educating the public may ease the embarrassment that most would feel to seek help. As in the case with Brian Miamon, awareness, advisement and early treatment may have prevented his suicide.

LiveWell Session 1

I really enjoyed the first session. I’m looking forward to change some of my habits through LiveWell. I’m really excited about the potential of managing stress.

Live well session 1

The session was interesting. The questions were very helpful and basic on everyday obstacles that one endures. I was placed in the “active” phase, quite simply because I started a diet on January 1st and my goal was to lose 22lbs by the 6th week which is the current week. Not precise, but close at 20lbs shed. Though working out and staying healthy was always an important part of my life, I really implemented it with more dedication at the start of the new year. Eating healthy has been a routine since I approached my 30th year and anticipate on keeping the stride going. I will continue to see improvements in the current months and look forward to using Live Well as a guide. The mental part of the session was also interesting as stress is inevitable in our daily lives because we as human beings must face the daily challenges in our lives.

liveWell Session One

After I finished completing the first session, I  plan to go back to work out.  I am in the prosses to change my eating habit.  I intended to eat cookies or candy everytime I am stress. my best snack will be fruit and veggies. now I want to be in a good spirit, I will stop to worry about negative energy.

Active Minds

It’s amazing when people really don’t believe that one person can make a difference when they can. Alison Malmon really took a bad experience in her life and made her pain her fuel. She drove deeper into what really occurred as opposed to taking it the head and heart and possibly even being hard on herself for it. She took the positive out of it and made sure she made the world a better place as best as she could with what she knew. It is so important for us to speak to each other and those who care for us. We may think we are alone but we aren’t. There are people all around us living through the silence the way we are. Conversations starting may cancel the silence. It’s important to stay socially active and keep our minds intertwined with those around us.
