LiveWell Session 3

I just finished LiveWell Session 3. I continue exercising regularly. And my diet changed a lot. I included a lot of vegetables and fruits to all my meals. I also keep a pack of almonds at work in case I would want a snack in between meals. I also try to relax and do things that make me happy when I feel that stress levels go up.

LiveWell Session 2 (healthy eating)

I just completed LiveWell Session 2. Right now I am in maintenance stage for exercise and managing stress. Also, I am in the action stage for eating healthy. I completely changed my diet. Now it’s only healthy and nutritious meals. My wife is very supportive and we literally stock the shelves with fruits and vegetables every day. My favorite snack now is fresh cut papaya.

LiveWell Session 1

Completing LiveWell session 1 was an interesting experience. I used to tell myself lots of times that I need to change my eating habits. I am exercising every day and I  think that I am pretty good at dealing with stress. However, I need a healthier diet. There’s so many information about healthy choices out there. But it all comes to what are you going to do with this information. Are you prepared to change your life for better following simple steps and finally develop those healthy habits? I know that I will definitely try my best.

I have an active lifestyle. My daily routine includes regular exercises – push-ups, squats and crunches. I also try to walk more instead of driving or taking public transportation.

Active Minds

Active Minds was founded by Alison Malmon shortly after her older brother Brian, college senior, committed suicide. Active Minds is “trying to change conversation about mental health”.  I think that Active Minds campus chapters should be in every college. Students need support and they need to know that they are not alone when dealing with mental health problems. Couple years ago my friend was very depressed. She was feeling helpless and thought that there is no way out from her situation. She went to see psychologist at the college wellness center. In the middle of conversation when she was crying and explaining to him what’s going on in her life, someone knocked at the door and entered his cabinet. Psychologist told this person: “We are almost done here, just wait outside”. My friend immediately stood up, said “thank you” and left. No need to say that she felt rejected and got depressed even more. I am very glad that my friend found strength to go through this difficult time in her life without doing any harm to herself.
