This research paper is about the Fashion Institute of Technology Museum’s (FITM) Online Exhibit Ballerina: Fashion’s Modern Muse. This paper reveals how ballerinas have inspired many notable Haute couture designers, particularly Christian Dior as he is also the designer with a long-standing relationship with ballet. Legendary ballerina Margot Fonteyn was his client as well. This paper analyzes the eight elements of design in a ballet costume displayed at the FITM online exhibit.
