How to make a cheesecake

Investigating on how Ā to bake a cheesecake, I found a video on youtube that explains how to make it. First of all, the instructor says that we must have three eggs lightly beaten, three 8-oz packages cream cheese softened, one third cup of sugar, one cup of sugar, half gram crackers, crushed, two tea spoons all purpose flour, one tea spoon vanilla, a quarter cup of milk, and on third melted butter. However, in the video, she does not specify what kind of crackers we must use, and also she does not explain what the role of the ingredients that she uses to make the cheesecake is; what kinds of cup and finally, I think she should notify all the materials we need to bake at the beginning. On top of all, her documentation was fair since if we try to follow every step she mentioned in the video, we will be able to make it.

Writing Headache

I completely agree with my classmates on the starting of research paper writing. Although, we all have our outlines and annotated bibliographies ready, we are very far from the end of the problem. Moreover, for each title and subtitle we must brainstorm, and organize ideas from the brainstorming. Another problem is the familiarity with your topic. Also, one of my classmates mentioned the fact that sometimes we the recent sources we find online are not generously available for the public, but I think that if you tell a librarian, he can give you access to the source for free. My advice is; for any problem encountered on the city tech library website, just ask a librarian for help.

Source Credibility

I found those three articles very useful because they have allowed me to get some information that I was not aware before. The author of ā€Rot and Footnoteā€ discusses the issue of giving credit to work creators. In fact I think that for the common sense, it is not a big deal to borrow someone else belongings, but when you take something from somebody without telling him what you did; it is stealing and punishable by law. It is the same for research paper; when you use a source to support your idea, you must give credit to the author of that source. Next, as Hauptman mentions, no matter what kind of research you are doing, you must always give the references of your sources.

report of annotated biblliography

While I was searching the sources for my annotated bibliography, I realized that the theory and the practice are two things very far from each other. In fact, after the lecture on the techniques of research, I felt confident because right away I did not try to find the good sources for my project; I wondered that it would be easy for me to find my sources since I knew how to Google scholar, where to find sources on city tech website and so on. However, when I started my research, I found out that to find good source is a tough work, but I have to recognize that without the research technique discussed in class, I would not be able to do what I did.

Blog response 2

Reading Destinyā€™s blog post, I found out how much Google scholar helped us to better start our assignment. Also the topic she want to write about it is one of the most popular topic that students like to search about; indeed I had the same topic in my mind, but I guessed that too many people will probably choose this topic as their research topic, so I decided to do my research about something quite abstract in order to understand its working. As, I said previously, I was almost ready to drop my topic, and picked a topic about social network, but thank to Google scholar and some books that I found in our library; I realized that I will have a lot to write about it.

Research Tool

I was skeptical about the topic I picked after the comments and suggestion made by professor; I was wondering if I follow what she said, I wonā€™t have enough to write; also if I donā€™t do what she want, I wonā€™t get a good grade. However, after reading some sources about my topic, I found out that she was right because there are so many issues about this topic that must be discussed and reformed for the well-being of everyone. Next, I must recognize the last class has strongly contributed to the finding of those sources. Especially Google scholar, it has helped me to find any kinds of sources I needed, and I think that my sources are credible. In word, I can state that Google scholar helped me to be confident about what my professor want me to do.

My opinion

I read the chapter six and seven of Badkeā€™s book ā€œResearch Strategiesā€ fourth edition; I was already aware of most of research tips in those chapters. However, there are several websites that I had no ideas about their existence such as CiteSeer and Scirius that are quite useful for me as student in chemical technology. Next, Iā€™m a little bit lost about your suggestion for my research topic proposal because you want me to narrow down my research topic in order to be more focus on only one aspect of my topic, but I think that if I have to answer only one question, I wonā€™t have a lot to say. Thus I want you to let me investigate on the effect on producers and consumers and also I want to compare the law of the United State and others countries. Still, if you insist about your suggestion, i will try.

I agree with Sabrina about the search engines. Technology has made life so easy for us that providing an effort to find something is become almost an impossible mission. For example, last semester, we had to do a presentation, because everything we needed about the topic was online, so we took all our data via the web without using any book or newspaper data. Next, there are some website for science major students where it is ninety eight percent sure that you can find the answers of your homework, so Sabrina is right to state that search engines make people lazy. However, as student, you must be aware that you have to provide some effort in order to succeed.

Research Method on Internet

In the articleā€ Database Search with Keywords and Hierarchiesā€, Badke discusses the methods of research on internet. In fact, the author tries to make folk be aware about the errors that must avoid in order getting exactly what we search for. I myself really enjoyed reading this article because I learned a lot from this reading. For instance, I was doing research last semester; because I did not know how to search on the web, I was force to randomly go through so many libraries to find what I needed. Thank to Badkeā€™s book which provide several websites for research Iā€™m sure that I wonā€™t spend much time to find basic information I need for my research project.

Hi Emira, your thought about plagiarism is completely right; I completely agree with you when you state that we are learning based upon other peoples phrases that have left either an impact or a learning experience. In fact, the notion of plagiarism must be clearly define in order to remove its ambiguity from everyone mind. As I said last time in class, I donā€™t think someone can claim a word or an idea as his own because we all learn from somebody and we are all inspired by someone. Thus, nowadays, our so called ownership of an article or an idea is merely the improvement of else body work. In word, I will say that plagiarism is the photocopy of another personā€™s work.
