Final Date for Withdrawal (Wednesday, December 14, 2022)

Hello all,

This is usually the worst post I have to write up every semester.

Just a reminder, the final date to OFFICIALLY WITHDRAW from a course with a grade of W is Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Not attending the course is not equivalent to withdrawing from a course; it only results in a WU grade, which is equivalent to an F. If you fail the course, it stays on your transcript and adversely affects your GPA. An F grade at the end of the semester will not be erased and will be combined with the grades of your other classes. With a W, CUNY and City Tech will treat it as if you had never attended the class- no harm no foul.

Note: NYCCT will NOT be doing Credit / No Credit this semester. If you haven’t been attending class, you need to withdraw as soon as possible.

Just be sure to check with the Financial Aid Office in NG013 to see how you withdrawing will affect your financial aid.

You can either do this at the Office of the Registrar in NG015, or withdraw on CUNYFirst. Here are the directions.

Test 3

Hello class,

This is just a reminder that your third test will be on Tuesday, 12/06/22. It will last the full class period. You will not receive a test paper unless you submit your cell phone and smartwatch (if you have one). You will be allowed a calculator (but you should probably go get one from the library)

As stated in class, the majority of the test will look like the final exam review.

That being said, you might also want to look up the Final Exam Review videos also.

The following topics are possible on Test 3. There is also a Practice Test 3 on WeBWorK to help you.

  • Solving Quadratic Equations
  • Graphing a Parabola
  • Circles (including graph)
  • Complex Fractions
  • Dividing Complex Numbers
  • Nonlinear System of Equations

The following topics are likely to be assessed:

  • Trigonometric Applications – sides and angles. (3 questions)
  • Coordinate Plane Trigonometry w/ with sign analysis
  • Unit Circle
  • Trigonometric Identities (1 question, but practice the ones in the final exam review)
  • Trigonometric Equations (2 questions)
  • Law of Sines
  • Law of Cosines (2 questions)

Test 2 Information

Hello class,

This is just a reminder that your first test will be on 11/322. You will not receive a test paper unless you submit your cell phone and smartwatch (if you have one). Also, I have added PracticeTest2 on WeBWork for you to study before the test.

As stated in class, the majority of the test will be page 1 of the final exam review. Additional topics may include:

  • radical equations
  • fractional equations
  • distance
  • midpoint.
