Andrew J. Charles: Petcha Kutcha Revision

When I had first worked on the Petcha Kutcha slides and planning, I was really engaged on how it looked for the games I was talking about. Sure I could’ve talked more about them but I wanted to keep it brief. However when it turns out that I needed to do a 15 second timer switch, it was kind of disorienting to me. As such for the time I had invested on the speech was all for naught and that 15 seconds wasn’t enough for me to explain the main points of Art Games as much as I wanted to. Also the fact that the timer and slides kept moving so fast that the main topics and ideas were skipped. So I felt that maybe if I had a chance to explain through things thoroughly, with an acceptable time limit I would not only explain my topic but I would be able to go more into detail about the example for the chosen ideas.

For the card recieved in class it was ‘Dissatified’. It represents how dissatisfied I was for the plan I had in mind was just thrown away, from the idea I had in store originally. But replaced with something that was not really explained or had nothing in terms of similarities.

Andrew J. Charles: Final Project

A Detective Mystery with Horror and Intrigue! With so much to offer!

Target:
For people who love elements of mystery, action, adventure, comedy-horror, sci-fi with a pinch of romance added in the stew of this story! In the style of an RPG comic/radioplay.

Overview:
The project I had in mind was an idea for a comic I was thinking of planning, back in Kingsborough in the school’s comic book club when I was a writer. I would like to make a game version to see if it could work or not. The game’s genre is a Mystery, Horror, RPG game with action/adventure elements. This could work for both an app for a comic book story telling or a console game for a story based element as a throwback to radioplays. Each version will be different in their own way.

Plot:
The plot of the game is that you play as a Detective in the 1930s during the depression, who ACTS like a hard-boiled detective at times including with inner monologuing to pass the time to make work interesting. In reality you are just a hard working person who is trying to support his daughter who is in boarding school that has a strained relationship with her. One day you get a strange call about a case that seems too supernatural for it to be normal, which thus kicks off the story.

Features:
Solve Mysteries from rumors, to urban legends and history!
Fight Monsters inspired by H.P. Lovecraft and many from various mythologies and beyond!
Learn and Earn the many items and weaponary also magic you gain!
A comic AND radioplay telling in the style of 1930s Radioplays
Puzzles you can use to help you on your quest!
Many more things!

Andrew J. Charles: Horizontal Prototype

The general concept that I had in mind for the app I had create was, to use as an emergency map system in case if a situation or event causes connections for phones to be cut off. Like in the situtation of a hurricane where the weather is that bad that connectivity is hindered this app will work as a makeshift or unorthodox type of map so that one could go to an emergency location for safety and support.

Andrew J. Charles: Mobile Interface Draft

An idea I have for a mobile app that could be somewhat helpful and simple to use, the function that this app will serve is trying to be a sort of guide in terms of dire need. For example during the issue of an emergency where one can’t get connection/reception this app could serve as an emergency line for contact or will lead you to a location where you can get support.
