B-02 Architectural plans

Reference assignment from 2019 Fall


Submit architectural plans for 3 floors of the building as indicated:

I. Cellar plan
Include walls, columns, stair to ground floor, windows (if any) and furniture.
xref the column grid

II. Ground floor plan
Trace the plan based on the drawings provided, include walls, windows and furniture.
Include stairs to cellar and to second floor (add if necessary)

III. Second floor
Develop your second floor, keep your design to minimal, focus on the precision and organization of your drawings.
The second floor should include a cantilever (this will require changes to your project). Your stairs should continue from your basement floor through to your second floor
(6PM section add a hypothetical second floor plan that only covers approximately 1/3 of the building)
Add stairs to ground floor

General Notes

Submit a pdf with 3 pages, and your eTransmit files

Typical, all submitted drawings and files for this project should have your title block and grid attached using an XREF.
Be thoughtful to assign the linework to the correct layers, consider your line weights, styles and your CTB files.
Rationalize your floor plans, keep dimensions in increments of most to ¼”, use 5” (or 4 ¾”) interior walls (see sketch and blog).
