Create a foundation section sketch describing the following variables
A, the footing depth below average grade
B, wall footing width
C, column footing width

Utilize the soil boring report to design your foundation
450mm Frost line depth
1,200 plf (pounds per linear foot) estimated load on foundation walls
2,020 plf (pounds per linear foot) estimated load on columns

Submittal:
submit BOTH the pdf and the dwg files.
DWG files and xrefs (etransmit)
Combine the individual pdf pages into 1 file.

Notes on drawings:

FOOTINGS PLAN
include wall footing and column footing.
Include your structural calculations in your footing plan
Calculation spreadsheet with soil boring report: CalculationsClass20s

CELLAR PLAN
Include exterior and interior walls, columns, stair to ground floor, windows (2 minimum with a lighting pit adjacent to the window) and Casework (built in furniture)if any.
8” perimeter walls 6” interior walls
xref the column grid If applicable

GROUND FLOOR PLAN
Reference the plan based on the drawings provided, include walls, windows and furniture.
Include stairs to cellar and to second floor (add if necessary)
Indicate overhangs slash cantilevers above with dashed lines
10-16” exterior walls (the wall thickness will depend on which wall assembly you will be investigating, be prepared to adjust your exterior walls thickness if necessary)
6” interior walls
8” wet walls adjacent to bathroom and kitchens
xref the column grid If applicable

FIRST FLOOR (living room kitchen)
Align your floor plans so they function is one building do not simply trace your reference drawings.
Focus on the precision and organization of your drawings.
10-16” exterior walls (the wall thickness will depend on which wall assembly you will be investigating, be prepared to adjust your exterior walls thickness if necessary)
6” interior walls
8” wet walls adjacent to bathroom and kitchens
xref the column grid If applicable

SECOND FLOOR (mezzanine bedroom)
See FIRST FLOOR Notes
and you may add a stairs to the roof

ROOF PLAN
See FIRST FLOOR Notes
and
convert half 1/3 to all your roof to a sloped configuration
you may add a roof Deck

Submittal:
submit BOTH the pdf and the dwg files.
6 boards, 34Ă—22 in PDF format
DWG files and xrefs (etransmit)
recommended, combine the individual pdf pages into 1 file.

Name files using the following naming convention:
course_professor initials_semester_project name_student name

files not conforming to department standards may be graded.
