What’s wrong with starting research with a thesis statement? When is it okay to start with one? Starting a research with thesis statement can be become harmful. According to the article, “This kind of thesis-first approach to research becomes harmful, however, when we assume that it is the only or the most valuable way to conduct a research.” Usually it good to start a thesis statement at the preliminary research stage.
How comfortable are you with the possibility of never finding “answers” to your research? I wouldn’t feel too comfortable with the idea of a possibility of never finding the “answer” to a research because it would make me feel like I wasted my time. However, I wouldn’t be too upset because I know that I’ll be learning something new in the research.
