Value deals with the lightness or darkness of a color. Since we see objects and understand objects because of how dark or light they are, value is incredibly important to art.
Texture is the surface quality that can be seen and felt. The texture is an important part of our interaction with art. It is one of the seven formal artistic elements, along with the line, color, shape, form, value and space. It can affect mood, evoke psychological associations, bring attention to a medium, or divert our focus toward materials used in work.
In this assignment, I have to fill up my Bristol board with small collage bits cut or ripped from magazine photos that do not have distinct shapes of things, but that represents a value and a texture. The college will be in black, white, and grey. Also, one part(Value or texture) needs to show the gradation and another part(Value or texture) have to show the contrast.
