This week was an easier week because I was placed to train as a housemen in the lodge for 2 days. This was the first time for me to experience how it’s like to be a housemen and it definitely changed how I see housemen. Before my training, I thought housemen were only in charge of taking away dirty linen and trash from housekeeper’s carts but I was wrong. I didn’t know that housemen were in charge of making sure their hallways, walls and stairs were clean as well as making sure there is no dust on the windows and decorative items. Also I didn’t know it was the housemen job to make sure the top sheets were stocked on their sections as well as making sure that the housekeeper’s carts were stocked. By having trained as a housemen, it definitely changed my perspectives about the role of a housemen and I can’t blame them for not emptying my cart out when the day is busy.
