Weekly Reflective Journal #1

I arrived at the Vista Way Pavilion on August 18th. I was clearly nervous that day because it is a new experience for me and I was worried about the way I would communicate amongst others. As the car finally made its stop in front of Vista, there was a long line outside that took hours to wait.

As I looked around my surroundings, I saw many extroverted people talking with each other as if it was nothing new. However, still nervous and anxious to my dismay, I just silently stood in line hoping for someone to talk to me.

Suddenly, two girls approached me and introduced themselves. I actually don’t remember one of the girls name, but I became very good friends with a girl named Darcy from Pennsylvania. She is going to be working in merchandise at All Stars Resorts. We talked and talked until we finally reached the house and got our house keys, Disney’s program guide and so forth.

Arrival day was plenty long as there was so much information’s going on that was never ending. Eventually, I got into my apartment and met all my roommates! Two girls are from Indonesia, one from Germany and one from Italy. It was the coolest thing ever that I have been placed with a bunch of international people!

  1. It is great to have a international roommates and learn something new. I was extremely nervous but I was relief when I finally met her. It was the moment of truth when I met my roommates. My roommates are from all over. Alix is from Arizona. Eliana is from Hawaii and Carol is from Puerto Rico. Carol is super friendly. I was happy and nervous too to see my roommates. We all have a lot of common similarities. I overcame it when I met them and I get along with them great. Carol grown to be close with me and it been a pleasure to meet rest of them.

We recently got a new roommate who is a international student and she’s such an amazing person and friendly. My fellow roommates and I learned so much from her hometown which is Italy. She also is a great baker. We one day got together and talked about our traditions and food, where we found a few similarities.
