Journal#12

Today was one of the busiest day that I had at my location since I’ve been there. Guest were contanstly coming in. As I went to walk a guest to the register. I saw about ten people run to one register all at the same time. I stood in front of the waiting line and told them that they had to move back and wait for me to send them to a line. They were an Argentinian tour group of about 300 girls. They were celebrating their quinceañeras (sweet 15) in Disney. My manager saw the big line of girls and told me to assign them to registers 1 to 3 while she sent everyone else to registers 4 to 6. Many of them didn’t know English so it was good thing that I know Spanish or it would have been a mess. I started to send the girls by pair of two and four to the registers. As soon as the line would empty I would send another pair. I noticed that in order for them to follow directions I had to show them with my fingers the number of people I wanted to follow me because if I just said three; five would follow. During this whole time I was sweating it felt as if the line was never going to end. I was able to get them through as efficiently and quickly as possible. The manager of park operations was there and she said that I did a very good job in handling the tour group. That in previous times It didn’t run that smoothly and that they weren’t able to get them to cooperate. That she was glad that I was there and able to communicate with them. She also said that she was going to give me a Fanatic card for my good work. Her words made me feel very proud of myself and happy that I was useful.
