Favorite Spot

I’ve discovered this place long before I started taking my photography serious. I remember when my sister moved up here and I was excited to show her around the place. The Promenade immediately became our favorite spot and also one of my favorite places to take pictures. The view of lower Manhattan is breath taking.

Festival Of Colors

It was that time again for a feeling of euphoria. The Holi Festival, one of many was held last Saturday at the NYC Bhangra. Every year around the spring season there are at least  two Holi festivals in New York City. Holi is an Indian festival which is usually known as the festival of colors or the festival of sharing love.

The dry colors are washable so you don’t have to worry about your clothes being discolored

Night Display

It’s always fascinating seeing the bridges at night, its like a Christmas tree. Most times, on the said holiday like Memorial Day and Fourth of July the bridges are lit in colors relating to the holiday.

Personally, I love seeing those bridges lit up at night. Thirty minutes after the sun has set blue hour emerges, giving it a spectacular view, while the colors from the bridge reflects on the water.

NYC Landmarks

It’s always an accomplishment for tourists when they visit NYC’s landmarks. You can easily spot a tourist by the way he or she is dressed to having a camera, and most definitely an NYC guide map in their hands.

Did you know there’s over one hundred landmarks in NYC? Yup, you heard right. That’s why when people tell me there’s nothing to do in NYC, I look at them like if they’re crazy. There’s always something to do here. From inexpensive to free activities.

I’m sure I meet the requirements of being a tourist(lol). At least that’s what my friends told me. They see that I always carry my camera with me or I may use my phone as a replacement. I think what really annoys them is that I suddenly stop at the most random places to take a picture.

Exploring Manhattan Bridge

When I resided in New York one of my goals was to walk on all the bridges that is pedestrians accessible. With my love for photography, I was even more determine to complete my goal. Which I have. I often ask myself which is my favorite bridge and my answer is always Brooklyn Bridge but I’m not entirely sure because I love them all; each are unique in its own way.

Of all the bridges I’ve walked, My first time walking the Manhattan Bridge was a bit scary but still exhilarating at the same time. I used the term scary because while walking on the bridge you can actually feel the tremors from the wind and whenever the trains passes by.

Question: Have you been on any of the bridges? How was your experience?

Dream Car

At some point in our lives we all thought about our dream car/jeep or at least imagine what it will look like. Every year around spring time, the Jacob Javits Center accommodates the New York International Auto Show. Its only there for a week but attending it is always worth the while.

Whatever your type of car maybe, they are in the exhibition. They range from Dodge and Lotus, to Bentley and Lamborghini. It really amazes me to see how far technology in auto mobiles has advanced; from stick shift to hydro charging to self driven cars. As intriguing as these cars maybe, I’m not so sure I’ll want my car to do the driving for me. However,  I’m open to test driving one. I mean like who, wouldn’t right?

The Hornblower

A couple months back I went to an instameet with a few friends. Usually when there’s a global or borough meet, they have an after party by the sponsors. This time around, the Hornblower was our sponsor. Not only is the view amazing but so are the food and the drinks. This was probably one of my favorite instameets(I know, I always say that lol). I mean what more could I have ask for? Food, drinks, music and of course the lovely view.

The Hornblower caters for different private events as well as nightlife entertainment and sight seeing attractions. You guys should check it out, you would not be disappointed. They run from different locations including Pier 40 in the West Village and Pier 15 in the South Seaport.

Empty Spaces

As busy as the subway train station can be at times, sometimes there’s a split second or maybe a few minutes when you can actually hear a pin drop. It’s between those moments I take full advantage of and pull out my camera or my phone. I’m not sure what it is about empty spaces that intrigue me but I’m always eager to capture that scene. Not that I don’t like when there is people but sometimes too much will be a distraction as to the kind of image I’m looking for.

Favorite Spot

Sometimes its best to take pictures on your own, don’t get me wrong you learn a lot from your peers when you shoot together and it makes things a bit more interesting. However doing it solo always allows your mind to be more creative and you can stay out for as long as you like.

Some of my most favorite places to shoot came from doing it solo. Gantry plaza state park is one of them. Located on the East River in Hunters Point in Long Island City. The park is located in a former dockyard and manufacturing district, and includes remnants of facilities from the area’s past.

Ringling Brothers

It was like deja vu all over again seeing the Ringling brothers circus. I recall as a child going to the circus back in my country which was a big deal for me. Besides seeing the animals do tricks, what made the experience amazing was sharing it with my school friends, I mean who wouldn’t love to spend the whole day away from school?(lol)

Over the weekend I took my niece and nephew to the circus; I know, I’m a good aunty(lol).  Two hours of non stop entertainment was worth it and of course I got to take pictures. Not only did the animals put on quite a show but also the circus masters.

What was my favorite act? I’m still trying to decide. However the elephants did stand out the most for me and since they will be retiring the elephants by 2018 after 145 years of performance, they really did put on a show.
