Taking everything into account, while researching the topic of gentrification in bed stuy Stuyvesant, I have learned that for a long time, gentrification has been a thing and I thought it was only happening from the years 2000s and up but ever since then, gentrification has gotten a lot worse now as one of the areas I talked about it was said to be only Black residents concentrated area but then the government finds them and always increase the rent which meant forcing them to leave their respective area which was surprising to me because I didn’t know that if they couldn’t afford to pay their rent or their mortgages meant that they kicked them out of their areas and for some that meant that they and their families are homeless with no place to go or money to survive but for some others, they were forced to find shelters with their families so they could live in since they couldn’t afford to live in their respective area. the research in the third article that I researched talks about ways the government can help reduce/control gentrification in areas where they are most vulnerable to gentrification and another thing that surprised me was that the government has already agreed to help reduce/control gentrification.

In conclusion, when I was exploring the impact of screen time on a kid’s development, it taught me some crucial things. Dr. Jennifer Cross showed that too much screen time could lead to changes in a child’s brain. This is a big deal because it affects how kids learn and grow. Brittany Clair surprised me by talking about how worries about screens have changed over time. It’s not just about TV anymore, it’s about all kinds of screens and what they mean for kids. Sudheer Kumar Muppalla added more to the picture, explaining not only the bad effects of too much screen time but also giving practical tips to manage it. One surprising thing was how screen habits in kids connect to other unhealthy habits like bad eating and not enough sleep. This deepened my thinking about the issue. It’s not just about limiting screen time but finding a balance. What I learned is super important for parents and caregivers. They can use this info to make smart choices for their kids. And it’s not just for families, it’s also for teachers and people who make rules should know about it too. We need to talk about this more as a society, so everyone understands how screens affect their kid’s health and learning.

Conclusion: I’ve completed my RAB which was focused on capital punishment and it’s phycology, more closely a look at how its effected the physicians responsible and the co-victims of the families of the executed as well as a lack of closure they may or may not feel if not awarded the death penalty providing them with emotional compensation. The three sources that I found were all different: a direct letter, an article, and a short telling news story. There are two main ideas that I have stumbled across while completing this assignment. The first idea was pertaining to this idea of “co-victims” and the closure needed to prevent mental anguish. And second that same mental anguish felt by physicians when having to live with themselves after an execution. My favorite source was the article I selected. The author’s name is Michael Keane… and his article is called “The Ethical ‘Elephant’ in the Death Penalty ‘Room” If there is one thing that I want my audience to remember is to be aware of the consequences of all parties involved when making any quick important decisions while not letting any prejudice influence the outcome.

In conclusion, while researching this topic, I learned an immense amount about police brutality. In all articles, there was a common factor that police brutality was prevalent in New York City, specifically black communities. Police brutality has been geared toward African-American individuals. Officers who are responsible or involved in altercations are still not being held accountable or stepping up to the plate and admitting to their wrongdoings. Police officers have to take out their personal beliefs and remember that their job duties and responsibilities are to protect and serve the public. Police officers and individuals have to realize that there are ways to prevent police brutality acts from taking place. Police brutality can be minimized if the government makes some structural reformation and recognizes the issue at hand. Furthermore, I think that all people should hear about the issue of police brutality, but it is most important for the police department to get this message and better themselves from worsening this problem. As a result, I’ve completed my Reflective Annotated Bibliography which was focused on the effects of police brutality in New York City in black communities and how it can be prevented.

Conclusion 

In conclusion, these texts encompass the known effects of going vegan and how it affects the body. The information I found was enlightening in a field I have interest in. I learned many new things while conducting my research for this reflective annotated bibliography. For example, I discovered that red meat has minerals that change your taste buds. In the introduction my research question was, how does veganism affect young people in the long term? The texts I found gave me a different outlook on personally transitioning to a vegan diet. This information is crucial to people who want this lifestyle. Even these texts do not have complete research on how a meatless diet completely affects our bodies in the long run. To sum up, altering your diet in any way has side effects, it’s your prerogative to decide what you consume.

These articles were all incredibly good at giving lots of information about this topic that was important and showing the validity of knowledge that this topic is and how big of an impact it had on the world. Many things surprised me about this topic like how many people were rescued during the storm and how the election was impacted by this. Many people lost their homes and homes were burned down because of the wind speed. There were many floods and power lines were knocked down. My question deepened on what information I got from these articles, and it was immensely helpful to write about this topic. This information is important because this event made an enormous impact on lots of people around the world and lots of people lost many things due to the storm. It was one of the most dangerous storms in history. I think lots of people should go into this topic and learn more about this topic because it was remarkably interesting to read about. 

In conclusion, this reflective annotated bibliography has studied “The Long-Term Effects of Standardized Testing on Students Learning Experiences.” A variety of sources has shown the complicated dynamics of standardized testing, its effects on students, and its wider influence on education. Standardized testing has strong supporters and opponents in education. The dispute over its function and effect shapes educational policy, classroom practices, and student experiences. Through the analysis of these three sources, we learn this continuous dialogue’s different aspects. Sonnert, Barnett, and Sadler’s first source highlighted the short-term advantages of extensive test preparation, which can boost AP calculus results. However, it prompted worries about the long-term effects, particularly for students with little topic expertise. This source stressed the need to balance exam achievement with subject understanding. Standardized testing has two consequences, as Lai noted in her second source. It acknowledged exam anxiety and teaching to the test but also highlighted student self-assessment and self-efficacy. This site recommended balancing the pros and cons of standardized testing. The third source, by Pietromonaco, covered US standardized testing history and legislation. It showed how high-stakes standardized testing causes stress, test anxiety, and educational unfairness. The source made readers question present testing methods and their effects on students. Generally, these sources illuminate the complex link between standardized testing, student experiences, and education. They stressed the need for a balanced evaluation method that considers both test preparation’s short-term advantages and its long-term effects on students’ academic careers and well-being.

In conclusion, the covid-19 pandemic made homelessness more perceivable to the public in many cities in America. While there were conflicting forces such as a moratorium on evictions that was in place during part of the pandemic, the use of hotels to quarantine the infected, and a pre-existing homeless population, the overall conclusion was that the number of unhoused people did in fact increase during the pandemic. While reading these articles I found myself surprised at how much more chaotic America has become. I was also surprised at how difficult it was to correct this problem even though a great deal of money was put aside for the task. People generally feel that money will solve all their problems, but it has become clear that lack of planning can prevent both money and good intentions from accomplishing their goal. My understanding has deepened when I consider that it has become much easier to end up homeless but far much harder to overcome it. It could happen to anyone. After reading these articles, I expressed my sympathy toward the local homeless people in my neighborhood. I started to imagine myself being in their shoes and how much they must go through, especially now when it’s only getting colder outside. 

To end off, phthalates are shown to be very harmful chemicals for us to ingest through the research of the articles. As the first article showed us, phthalates help contribute to health problems such as heart disease and may cause some to develop symptoms early on. We have also been shown how disadvantaged communities due to consuming more processed foods are more at risk for health impacts from phthalates. These articles can definitely help some reflect on their dietary choices next time they decide to go out for fast food. The article also really did help me gain a new perspective on processed foods and how unhealthy these foods really can be. These articles surprised me by the fact that there are multiple types of phthalates that can be found in these foods. The research found in the third article surprised me to find that in even dairy products you can find phthalates. It did not surprise me to hear all phthalates are found in lards or fats since they generally contribute to heart complications which is one of the things phthalates are also known to contribute to. The research shown for phthalates affecting disadvantaged communities also really surprised me since I never thought of how since these processed foods are cheaper and easier to purchase than a home cooked meal that the phthalates are disproportionately harming these communities.

In conclusion, the investigation of the impact of AI chatbot technology on the communication and relationships of future generations has shown that, if mishandled, the technology can possibly prove to be a detriment to human society. Through the sources referenced,  it can be concluded that the average human will project the image of sentience onto tools, which undermines the value of human qualities like emotion. Irresponsible regulation of artificial intelligence can result in massive negative consequences and will be dangerous to the spirit of humankind. While doing my research, I was surprised by how frightening the implications of this technology have proven to be. If we are not careful to avoid the dehumanization of civilization, then future generations will inhabit a bleak world. My thinking on the research question deepened in the philosophical arguments about AI, as well as what typical individuals think regarding chatbots. I believe that what I have learned about is important because it shows the necessity of exercising caution when technology moves forward. This is something that almost everybody in the world will be affected by. This means that recklessness will have massive consequences. Furthermore, I think that all people should hear about these issues, but it is most important for world leaders, researchers in technology, and the youth to be educated on artificial intelligence and its effects on communication and relationships in order to use the tools of the future in a way that benefits society.
