The concept i thought of is to make a game where all of my favorite childhood characters of the late 90’s early 2000’s interact. They are all based in the tv show Courage the Cowardly dog show’s world. characters that would be included would be most from the cartoon network shows, nickelodeon cartoons, and some disney characters. that would include power puff girls, courage the cowardly dog, rugrats, etc. I picked the Courage world for; you can make up many problems the characters come across, no matter how far fetched because the show and world is far fetched and has a certain tone to it. which sets it up for a problem and solution to be solved.
There are not a lot of games where your favorite characters interact, only way you can get that pleasure is if you read cross over fan fiction, or play the two games that actually do this. (Kingdom Hearts, and Capcom vs marvel.)
Most games that are based on a tv show are not well made and if you have a game that does not have to focus heavily on what that or those characters story is about just the way they act and how they would act in the set world, you have potential for a great game. This game would be for the people that grew up with the late 90’s cartoons and early 20’s cartoon, it would seem like a E rated game (E is for Everyone) but for the fact it is based in the courage the cowardly dog show world it would be rate T+ (T for Teen, + for and older)
This game will give this demographic the nostalgic of there favorite shows growing up with a heavy plot that they would love to come back and play again. The interaction of the different characters will increase there interest of how certain character would act toward each other.
1 User: Identify the user, based on the target user group.
Elementry, junior and high school. also college.
2 Context: Describe context or situation in which the problem exists
Students are not exposed to the arts as much as they should be in their everyday life. there needs to be a balance in their education. between academics and extracurricular.
3 Motivation: Describe an incident or condition that motivates the use of the solution.
The different floors in my high school were different colors. two were floors were yellow the other two were blue. This affected the mood and feel of the school, it made it positive and friendly, everyone respected each other.
4 Solution: Show how they access and use the solution to address their need.
When they first design schools, they should talk about how the place should feel, to make it a place where students want to come and learn and it motivates them to. schools should have the art classes and other students that are not in an art class contribute to what their school looks like so they feel more apart of it.
5 Outcome: Describe the outcome of the situation – the payoff, the problem solved, and the happy user.
students will feel more apart of their school if they see something they have done up on the walls, Or any kind of work was put up in their schools to showcase who they are as a school. art being around these students will get them more excited and creatively thinking.
Proposal: Using The kinect and VR head sets. you can create a world by drawing your ideas out and scanning them with the connect. (it can be drawings, photos, your own drawings and tangible or digital image) the system will recreate your drawing in a three dimensional space, studying the drawing through algorithms that read all the detail to the drawings. you can also draw objects to be in the world such as chairs and tables. and peoples profiles will be able to be scanned to create new characters. one you have what you want uploaded you can manipulate the objects in the world to how you see fit. almost like clay. The kinect will let you have a more strong control of your body in the game/ simulation. scanning your habits/movements up as well. (such as if you tap your foot alot.) while the VR head set will let you have the feel of being in the world you created.
