The WTS-GNY 2024 Scholarships are now live!

The Scholarship Committee is hosting a Virtual Scholarships Info Session today at 5:30pm to discuss available scholarships being offered, application requirements, and Q&A. The Greater New York Chapter of WTS invites eligible women to apply for the scholarships at the graduate, undergraduate, and high school levels, as appropriate to the individual.

People identifying as women continue to be under-represented in transportation-related fields. As a result, we will be prioritizing those applicants. Male identifying candidates may still apply and are encouraged to show traits of strong advocacy and allyship in their application.

Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher, proof of transcript
  • Enrolled in or accepted to a degree program in a transportation-related field, such as engineering, planning and logistics
  • Must be attending a NY institution and/or a NY resident

Applicants may apply to multiple scholarships if they meet the required criteria.

FREE Women’s Summit for Women in Tech – New Academic Complex – April 12

Date:              Friday, April 12, 2024
Time:              10:00 am to 5:00 pm (optional networking hour from 5-6 pm)
Location:      NYC College of Technology (City Tech)
Academic Complex, 285 Jay Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201
Lunch:           Lunch will be provided

The women’s summit focuses on Black, Latina, and Native/Indigenous college women in tech and presents this group with a wonderful opportunity to connect, learn, and be inspired to excel in tech. There will be several panels, workshops, and talks, including:

  • Thriving in Tech as a Young Woman of Color
  • CS and What’s Next? Building an Identity Outside of Tech
  • Imposter Syndrome: What is it Really? What is it Not?
  • Finding My Place: How to Fit in While Standing Out
  • Party of 1: Navigating Gender, Race, & Age Loneliness in the Workplace
  • When She’s Not Loyal: Dealing with Uncertainty in Tech
  • Tools for Success: LinkedIn, Resume, Networking, and Apps

The summit is co-sponsored by CST, Rewriting the Code, NYC Tech Talent Pipeline, and NYC Mayor’s Office of Talent and Workforce Development.
