Internship Opportunity: Project Manager/Estimator Intern

During your internship at Apple Restoration and Waterproofing, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a talented team of individuals. You’ll also get the opportunity to get involved with exciting and significant projects.
The project manager intern must be a team player and detailed oriented with great communication skills and organizational skills. Responsibilities may include but not limited to the following such as processing submittals, gathering information, attending project meetings, and assisting in miscellaneous tasks assigned by the project management team. You’ll work with a knowledgeable team of individuals helping us with accurate data input regarding project estimates, budgets, work plans, project schedules, and more. As you become familiar with the tasks you’ll be assigned your own projects and tasks to monitor and to report earned valued progress and to report complete cost evaluations.

Required Skills

• Excellent written and communication skills
• Strong analytical skills and detailed oriented
• Time management skills and able to handle various responsibilities while meeting strict deadlines
• Advanced knowledge of excel, data manipulation, and spreadsheet design to communicate results
• Must be familiar with using Autocad

Qualifications 

• Pursuing a bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or relevant field required
• Basic knowledge of construction methods and materials
• Knowledge of earned value management and cost estimating
• Demonstrates interest in construction management and the construction industry

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Assistant Bridge Inspection Team Leader for our Warwick, RI office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review previous inspection reports and assist in the planning of field operations.
  • Perform inspection work and compile reports.
  • Receive directions from the Project Manager and other senior staff.
  • Technical compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Possess an Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  • 0-1 years of experience in bridge inspection or design or other bridge-related work.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically capable of performing continuous fieldwork including working at heights and in close quarters, climbing, carrying ladders and gear, working in adverse weather conditions, etc.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and ability to successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and the ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • AutoCAD/Microstation Capabilities
  • Microsoft Office Capabilities
