On March 20 we released version 1.7.85 of the OpenLab. It was a small release that included a few small improvements, some minor theme and plugin updates, and a plugin that we retired plus an alternative we added.
We made an update to the OpenLab Inline Comments plugin so that the comment bubbles only appear when viewing individual posts and pages. Previously they were appearing on the homepage (or other post archive pages), which was potentially confusing.
In preparation for some improvements to cloning, we made a few tweaks to streamline the first page of course, project, club, and portfolio creation. Now, some of the text and other page elements relevant only to creating a group with an external site are not visible unless you select that option.
We retired the Easy Custom Sidebars plugin because it is no longer being maintained by its developer, and the plugin’s settings page is no longer accessible from the dashboard. If you were already using the plugin it will continue to work on your site for the time being, but we suggest that you deactivate it and switch to Content Aware Sidebars, a new plugin added in this release that does the same thing. This plugin won’t appear in Dashboard > Plugins, so please contact us to activate it.
As always, please contact us with any questions!
