OpenLab Support
The OpenLab Community Team offers students, faculty, and staff members support for getting started, setting up your OpenLab site, continuing your OpenLab work:
- Sign up for One-on-one Open Hours for a 30-minute Zoom session with a member of the OpenLab Community Team
- Join a co-working session for quiet working time with others, with the option to move to a breakout room for conversation or questions
- Sign up for one of our scheduled workshops below, or request a workshop for your group
- Use Help materials and screencasts to guide your work

Join the OpenLab team for a workshop to learn–or learn more–about the OpenLab! These workshops are open to all students, faculty, and staff members–though some are more obviously for one group than the others!

Presenting Yourself Online focuses on how students can create and maintain a professional and/or academic online presence. City Tech’s OpenLab team supports students developing a presence on online spaces including their OpenLab sites during their academic career and even into their job search post-graduation.

In Using OpenLab Sites for Research Projects, City Tech’s OpenLab team supports student researchers by showing how to communicate about and display research via open platforms such as OpenLab and CUNY Academic Commons.

Open Pedagogy on the OpenLab
In the past, in addition to these focused workshops, the OpenLab hosted Open Pedagogy events each semester. These events brought together faculty and staff from across City Tech, CUNY, and the New York metro area for focused discussions of open pedagogy, with an emphasis on how these aspects take place on the OpenLab and in other similar digital environments. Past topics include access, annotation, copyright and attribution, multimedia pedagogy, and ungrading.
