Final Project- Film Poster

For my final movie poster, I decided to go with Shaolin Soccer because it’s one of my favorite classic movies. Shaolin Soccer came out in 2001 and was directed by Stephen Chow, the lead actor in the film. It’s a Chinese Kung fu-oriented soccer-themed movie that is very comedy, humorous, and serious at the same time. I tried to capture both the humorous and serious tone in my poster design.

Final Project: Part 1

Original Movie Poster

Summary: Ghostbusters II takes place 5 years after the events in the first movie. The team of 4 (Peter Venkman, Raymond Stantz, Egon Spengler, and Winston Zeddemore) that saved New York from destruction by the supernatural has disbanded. Due to the amount of property damage incurred, they were sued and forced to go out of business. However, that did not stop the supernatural occurrences taken place – in fact, a new threat appears In the form of Vigo the Carpathian: a 16th-century European tyrant and magician whose overall goal is to conquer the world.

The original movie poster lacked originality and maintained the cliche composition using the main cast and title/logo in the center—very bare bones, with plenty of negative space. It does not have the character one would think of in a movie with such creative and expressive characters and creatures.

Target: the audience is ages 10+

Keywords: Ghost, Slime(r), New York City, Statue of Liberty, Ghostbusters, trails, Streets, buildings, Vigo the Carpathian (antagonist), Sea-Green, Pink, tan, Anger, Ecto 1 (GB car), Ghost Trap, Proton Pack, Proton Lasers
