I learned that people often delay a task that is challenging at first. Fear gets put into their head thinking that they won’t do good at first. When this thought comes to ones head, the person could start to feel anxious or even guilty. This could cause the person to not start/complete the task even more.
I also learned that ages 14 – 29 procrastinate the most. Men procrastinate more than women
When is procrastination bad?

Reading “America Never Wanted The Tired, Poor, Huddled Masses” was interesting. I enjoyed reading the article and took in a lot of new information and facts. The way immigrants would be treated and always watched strictly is disturbing to think about.
I think the intended audience for this article are those who live in America. Everything has history whether it’s an object, person or country / land. This article is good to learn how immigrants were really treated harshly regardless of having a visa.
I believe Caitlyn Dickserson published this article to show how America fails to hold their promise for being the “land of the free’’ because of their immigratioln system. Page 5 states ““To .x our broken immigration system, we must pass reforms that re/ect America’s values,”. This was stated by senator Amy Klobuchar. These ideas get passed to senators and the congress but are never successfully executed.
“America Never Wanted The Tired, Poor, Huddled Masses” is an example of a feature article because of how Caitlyn Dickerson narrates the news. She uses a story from a boy growing up in El Paso Texas, stating how his great aunt would be treated weekly when she would bathe. Caitlyn Dickerson’s article is news related by how she speaks about Joe Biden and his plan on immigrants. How he wants to provide citizenship to millions of immigrants.
The tone I felt as I read Caitlyn Dickerson’s article was firm and formal. The way she speaks about immigrants and how they are treated in America when they are promised a “better life”, you could tell she’s serious.
I like how Caitlyn Dickerson uses multiple sources as she narrates about immigrants in America. Her experiences in school when she goes out to play, the government and how they play a role, David Dorado Romo about his great aunt. She also provided history from 1900’s and earlier about the pilgrims. The plans and ideas they had when entering America.
As I read this feature article, I thought this was a good example. I learned what should be included as you write one, multiple sources not just your opinion, you should add personal experiences to show your side of the beat and that history and providing dates is important. It makes the reader more comfortable when reading because it shows that the writer knows what they’re talking about and that you’re being as accurate as possible.
I think this piece was very interesting to read because it touched on topics that are not spoken about a lot. Apart I found very interesting was when the author had shared a personal story of someone’s, in the beginning, to draw the reader in and explain the overall purpose of the essay.

-Is there a true solution to finding a way to make an individual focus?
-An analysis as to why some may find it harder to concentrate over others.
-Can there be underlying factors such as family genetics as to why someone can’t focus?
-How has the lack of affected individuals over the course of time?

-Not being able to concentrate is more a serious issue than to be expected as there can be a bigger issue at hand that’s causing it.

I liked how the author began with a story to tell. As a reader you can see more behind the life of an immigrant.
I believe the intended audience for this article are anyone who has a family member in that situation or anyone living in the United States. I believe the author wanted others to view how immigrants were being treated.

What interested me while reading this article was the amount of new information that I learned about immigrants and how they were being treated. She started with a story to grab our attention.
What I learned from reading this feature article was what to add inside such as resources and what kinds of research to add. For example, adding multiple sources to make the reading more informative and backing up your topic.
Know: I know that a pregnancy can be terminated from 15-19 weeks. Some women feel guilt. Happens everywhere and everyday What to learn: I want to learn about how women overcome the feeling of guilt. I want to know if having a partner helps lessen the feelings of guilt. Also I want to learn if there is any help that women receive after an abortion such as therapy Learned: I learned that there is no help for women that get an abortion and there are times where they have to pay out of pocket. Women who do not have their partner with them have a bigger statistic of feeling depressed and isolated. There are women who feel pressured to do it and sometimes it is by their parents.
