When Mike Bunn writes “You are already an author”, he may be implying that an author is anyone who composes their thoughts into words. Hence, we are all authors by this definition. In my experience, the plethora of things I compose includes poems, essays, journal entries, homework reflections, and even emails. Albeit, these examples are of things that require more introspection and review. Moreover, other ways in which I compose are done through texting, making a grocery list, or setting reminders on an agenda. So much of what we do is done through authorship. Thus, Bunn’s assertion is valid. This is existing expertise for almost all of us. Furthermore, it will help me in my college reading and writing career since it will provide me with exposure. With any craft whether, it be photography, poetry, or painting, the craftsman gets better with time as he hones and perfects his skills. In the same way, this existing expertise will help me perfect my writing and hopefully help me present or bring about a style of my own. I must admit I love writing no matter what the genre is. Since I am technical and inventive with my writing, time goes by as I carefully browse my craft, inspecting each word so that the entirety of my work gleams in the final.

Mike Bunn is an eminent writer as he writes in such a way that he can amuse and converse with his audience. To begin with, his use of imagery and diction assists the reader to visualize and sufficiently comprehend his dialogue. I especially liked the opening of his essay where he describes the workplace in immense detail. With the use of diction so vivid and definitive I was able to hear the shrieks, glimpse the darkness, and feel the gloom and bore of the room. I would love to incorporate more imagery in my work as it is something I am immensely fond of.
