My name is Xavier Cruz, most people who know me very well just call me X, although I don’t really mind it. This is my second semester as a college freshman. I joined this class looking for a new beginning with my fellow peers. I am Puerto Rican but was born and raised in the Bronx with my 3 other siblings and parents. Graphic design and other aspects of the subject has always interested me. I feel like there’s so much that can be learned from the basic principles, including using your artist intellect to understand the perspective of others by looking into what makes an assignment. I’m hoping that like last semester, I am able to learn new things every time in class so that I have something to look forward to for the next class. Overall, I want to improve my general skills by stacking upon what I already know and touching upon more information. I am very excited to see what the new semester has to offer me. You never know what may happen along the way. I also look forward to learning more about each and everyone of you guys. Here’s to a great few months.

Hey guys, my name is Ashley Carrasco. I’m in my second semester in this school but it’s the first one where I’m taking courses in Communication Design. Last semester my major was Liberal Arts and Sciences because I didn’t really know what I wanted to study. By the end of last semester I decided to change it to something that I was a little more interested in doing. I don’t really have a lot of experience with drawing; I used to take art classes when I was in middle school, 9th and 10th grade. I don’t really know how to draw well, but most of the time I keep trying until I think that I’ve done my best. Some things that I really like are music, movies, photography, dance. In my spare time I mostly read, or go on Netflix to catch up on the shows that I watch like Grey’s Anatomy, Once Upon A Time, The 100 and some others. Also, I like to write anything that comes to my head and I also take pictures. I’m not that good but I am trying to get the hang of it.
I’m a little scared yet curious to see the challenges that I’m going to be facing this semester. I’m going to try my best and practice to improve every day.
My name is Waajid Munajj, this is my first semester attending City Tech as a communication design major. I have a little experience when it comes to creating anything using a digital medium but have a great interest in learning how to do so. I enjoy painting in various mediums but mostly oil, traveling whenever i’m able to and spending time with my family. My favorite types of food is Indian and my favorite colors are black and blue. I enjoy cooking or baking and also reading in my spare time.

My name is Marquis Brown. This isn’t my first time taking this class at City Tech but is my second time trying to not fail. I love video games, hacking, music, and i’m kinda bad at drawing but my dream job is to be a Game Designer which is why i’m in the Communication Design major so I can get better at drawing. On my spare time I like to either play video games, go on YouTube, go to my friends house to hang out or sleep over, try to search new ways to hack my games or make video on YouTube.

Greetings! My name is Deandra Cornelius, I am an avid artist, master in digital arts ( Photoshop, Clip studio paint, PTS ) for 11 years. I am a website coder, knowing http & javascript as well as CSS and I’m currently learning more about C++. My favorite colors are grey & blue, and I have a fondness for history and astronomy. I enjoy writing as much as I enjoy art, and I do know a bit of typography, as it is required in my websites. I hope to become friends with all of you in the upcoming semester!
My name is Emmanuel DeWalt, but you can call me Manny for short. This isn’t my first year at City Tech but this is my first time learning in the Communication Design major department. Last year I was in the Electromechanical Technology Engineering major but I didn’t really like it that much. It didn’t feel right for me. I’m not the best at drawing; actually, I don’t really know how to draw. You might ask “Why did I choose an major that involves drawing?” Even though I don’t have an artistic talent I am able to think creatively and so I’m in this major to learn the in’s and out’s of drawing putting my creative thinking to the test. My spare time involves mostly sleeping and hanging out with my friends. Sometimes I enjoy the comfort of my own home and like to stay there for a while mostly during the weekdays if I have to go to school or not.

My name is Yan Ling Moy, but people call me Yan. This is my first year taking courses in Communication Design. I enjoy doing different types of art, such as painting, sketching, or everyday arts and crafts. Anything that inspires me creatively, I would take the opportunity to draw it out. My favorite mediums for painting are acrylic and water color. During my spare time, I would relax myself by either watching the latest released movies on Netflix or catching up on my favorite TV episodes such as Supergirl or the episode of The Flash. I would also use the time to practice on my drawing or painting. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family. During the summer, I would usually go out to play tennis with my friends or shop with my family.
Although I may have some background doing artwork traditionally, I have little experience doing art digitally. I am very excited to be a part of this major because it allows me to challenge myself in doing art from a different perspective. I am most definitely looking forward to learning new things and growing along the way.
