Weekly Journal #9

Aside from going to the parks after class, this week was pretty uneventful.

Work is really picking up its pace–we’re getting even more guests because it’s October. All Star Resorts is supposed to be at 100% occupancy I believe and I can definitely feel the difference.

In one of our shops called Roxy, we are trying out a new system of taking orders. We write out guests orders and call them out by their names when orders are ready. It’s a lot more pressure to get everyone’s orders in but the method has been working so far.

Moving forward, interacting with guests when it’s so busy will be a challenge because I feel that pressure to just give the guests what they want and move on to the next one.

  1. The challenge to move customers through a line quickly and providing individual attention is always a struggle. What did you learn about keeping this balance?
