Collages and mixed media are used in today’s society through art whether it’s fine art digital art, design, advertising and branding. For me, I use collages and mixed media for moodboard. For my line of work which is Art Direction, my job is to design a visual communication of how an idea looks when it possibly comes to light. The client talks about what they want to do and it’s the Art directors job to create a visual representation of that idea whether it’s moodboards, graphic designs or deck layouts in order to give the client a clear understanding of how something could possibly look. 

I personally feel like the 80s aesthetic is mostly in music and in fashion. The 80s to me were heavily themed in everything that was done in music and fashion tends to not only grasp inspiration but try to set the bar to new heights in the work. Things continuously evolve and it’s inspiring that art keeps coming up with new concepts of creating things.
