On October 17 we released version 1.7.80 of the OpenLab. It included a new feature, a bug fix, minor theme and plugin updates, and a plugin deactivation.
Staff can now create courses
Previously, faculty were the only OpenLab members able to create courses. Since there are staff at City Tech who also teach courses, we made a change to allow staff to create courses on the OpenLab.
Invitations interface fixed
When you invite a new member to the OpenLab in the Membership section of a course, project, or club profile, that group should be pre-selected as one that the new member will be invited to upon joining the OpenLab. We fixed an issue preventing the pre-selection of the course, project, or club from happening correctly.
Plugin deactivation
We deactivated the ‘Hide Category Sticky Post’ plugin because it is no longer being maintained by its developer, and can sometimes cause the order of posts on the homepage to be displayed out of order.
This plugin will remain activated on existing sites, but won’t be available to activate on new sites. We suggest that you deactivate it on any existing sites. If you clone your sites, or make them cloneable by others, please deactivate this as well as any other plugins you’re not using, so they are not cloned to new sites.
As always, please contact us with any questions!
