From the Field

The comic communicates the idea of fast food. We know this because in the last illustration when the caveman ate the bug he wrote “fast food”. Although the artist wrote “fast food” he isn’t referring to the restaurants, he’s referring to the speed in which the caveman intakes his food. The artist places a caveman, a bug, and rocks to help communicate his message.

Illustrations communicate ideas differently from graphic design by using multiple frames, a storyboard style with the use of sequences and sometimes incorporates both text and define drawings. Graphic design can convey a message using very little details.

In the illustrations above the people represented are Americans, people who take food for granted, usually the rich. The people that isn’t included are people who are less fortunate. The caveman represent the little thinking people do when it comes to food.
