Cosmo cover magazine. A fun project where we needed to play with the lights. I think directing my model was something difficult because I wasn’t sure the pose I wanted.

Magazine Cover Shoot
For this class, we had to photograph and layout a magazine cover with on of the pictures from the shoot. Being that I was being used as a model, I barely have any pictures other than mine. What was pretty interesting about this class was that many magazines use similar layouts but they all have to be laid out in a specific way in order to make the image stand out and also allow the type to work.

Today’s class we were asked to take portraits photography for magazine cover. Prior to the class, we were asked to take a look at what kinda magazine cover we would like to shoot & bring in logos (whatever is necessary). I knew I wanted to do a cover for PAPER magazine as they have minimal look to their magazine or an editorial kinda magazine cover. Since this shoot was done during the class time I went with the paper magazine cover. To shoot my magazine cover I used Black backdrop. As for my setting, I used ISO 400, EXPOSURE 1/125. I also used reflector which is why there’s a nice soft light. After taking pictures I used lightroom to fix lights. Then used photoshop to touchup skin a little.

This is my TIME cover magazine. Took me a while. I just laryed the picture I took with the time logo. I found the logo online.
HW 9
I tried to recreate one of Frida Kahlo’s Paintings by using the flowers on my head, similar earrings and clothing.
For this assignment I tried to recreate the Us movie poster.
Final Project Overview
The story I’m using for my Final Project is the Tortoise and the Hare story. Since a tortoise and a rabbit is hard to come by these days I’m going to have actors dressed up to represent both animals. The shots will include the initial challenge starting, the race itself, the hare stopping mid race to nap while the tortoise passes them and the tortoise claiming victory in the end.
Final Project Overview – “Fairy Tale/Nursery Rhyme“
My final project will be loosely based on Goldilocks and Three Bears. I’m planning on using six shots as Goldilocks trial and error with chairs and porridge. I may switch up the porridge with another food or drink option. The first two photos will be Goldilocks prancing about in the Forest and stumbling upon the bears’ home. The last two will be a of the bears coming home to Goldilocks sleeping their bed and her jumping out the window to escape.
Learning Log # 10 – Products Photography
In today’s class we worked on product shots. I had a great learning experience testing out different styles of lighting to try and get the best shots. My products were reflective so it was a challenge trying to get the lighting right.
