Ted Talk 4

Tamekia MizLadi Smith is known as The Singing Speaking Poet. She has been revered as one of the most empowering speakers of this day. Her witty delivery through storytelling has proven to be an effective way to present her mission of encouraging, educating and entertaining her audiences. As a Spoken Word Vocalist she artistically blends her love for writing, music and poetry into a cohesive mandate. Tamekia serves on the board of “Dear Poetry” where the mission is to restore communities through the lost art of writing. As the Training Director for “Dear Poetry” she is able to display her passion for training and coaching. Tamekia has been a trainer for the “Parents as Tender Healerwhiles” training and the keynote speaker for several conferences and events. She has worked in an administrative capacity in the areas of Foster Care, Adoption, Behavior Health and Psychiatry. She currently works at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in the Office of Health Equity where she delivered a Ted Talk on “Overcoming Social Determinate through Mentoring”. She has been a trainer consultant /mentor for programs such as “Girls In Action”, “Dear Sistah Girlfriend” and in the near future she will start as a mentor for Columbus City Schools.
