The short story Lottery by Shirley Jackson is about a lottery draw. It’s about the stages of the game. Also it’s about a tradition that’s happens in the village.  Mr summer runs the lottery and whoever gets the slip with the black dot wins. The slips were put in a box and the head of each family had to pull out a slip and that’s how the winner was chosen. There has a been a lottery for so many years so that now it is a tradition of the village.
