Andres Nunez- Final Project Statement

Topic – A general topic of photography that interests me would be street photography. Doing my final project on this would be exciting because once again, I enjoy going out and just walking around NYC. Before I use to walk around tourist place and never took time to just stay there and take pictures about what is really going on at these places. The purpose it will serve in my portfolio is that I can capture the feeling and experience of these places for the people that can’t come to these places and enjoy them in person.

Subject Matter – I will take pictures of the environment and people there.

Style – I would like to have a sunrise/sunset type of feeling to it. I want to create a feeling of excitement and make the viewer feel like they are in the picture. In order to create this sort of feeling, I will need to take the pictures at eye level. The picture below was taken by Kevin Burke and this is the style I want to create for my final project.

Lighting – I will use the sun for the lighting for the majority of my pictures. For some I may have to use street lamp lighting or lighting coming from stores.

Looking at your mood board it seems you want to do something on New York City’s great public spaces.

What I like about the example you posted on Openlab is there are people in the foreground but it is a wide enough shot we also get a lot of information about where we are.

10 places might be overly ambitious so try for 5. Your project could have two images of each place. . Make a list of what they are. and figure out whcih ones appeal to you and will also work together.

    Here is my list:
    Brooklyn Bridge
    Oculus
    Red steps in Times Square
    Washington Square park
    Bethesda Fountain Central park
    High Line
