When Mike Bunn writes, “You are already an author”, I believe he means that all of our writing is already in our heads, and we just have to physically write it. We all have our own technique of writing, which is what makes all of us authors. I don’t really write, the only thing I do write and sometimes enjoy writing are informative notes for school, work, etc.
In Bunn’s article he gives an example of certain authors starting off their writing with a quote. This is one thing I would like to try when I write an essay or something.
I personally always have been annotating while reading, because I have trouble understanding when I am reading majority of the time, and this just make my life more easier. I tend to annotate important information, important dates and anyone important.
I’m like you — I find annotating really helps me figure out what the writer is trying to say.
