This is my “do it yourself studio” which consists of my lamp as my main light source, my lava lamp as a side light source, art books as backgrounds, game cases as a tripod and a flash light. The lamp was my bread and butter for this entire process since the lamp itself was highly powerful. The lava lamp, providing it’s side light really helped harmonize some of my photographs due to it’s bluish green color, it worked well with the sunlight light of the lamp. In terms of backgrounds, I kept it simple with just the back of my art books which were brown and sometimes I switched it up and used the pages for a white background and my boards as my black backgrounds. Lastly since I don’t own a tripod I had to improvise and use my video game cases, since I have literally dozens of them I was about to mimic a tripod by placing my camera upon them. I honestly did not expect to get great results out of these tools but they turned out great, which in the end made this a fantastic and rewarding experience overall.

Still Life Ads

This project was a great experience because we had a focus and an objective to advertise the good and the bad of the pineapple industry. I thought it was a great way to be able to let go and be a lot more creative. This photo was conducted by a lot of improvisation, but it was a great success.

Colored Water Surpriszed

After a lot of tries we finally got to get the right curvatures that was needed for the heart shaped photo. I also learned how we can take photos to the next level. It was also hard because we had to use water. It was a great opportunity.15255379204_86092771eb_o

Multiple Exposures

It took a long time to get this photo well done. It took many tries, but after awhile i finally got the hang of it. i had to flash the object, once, and hold for a little and so on and so forth. But i really like doing this multiple exposure trick for photography. i can not wait to keep exploring the technique.

Multiple Exposures

IMG_9145

I think this photo came out well because it was where we finally realized that the more movement and flashes, the more blur in the photo. We solved one of these problems by having them stand still so that at least the bottom halves were mostly stationary and had just their top halves moving. But after looking at this, we realized that if we were to fire less often, we would be able to get an image that had more isolated movement instead of a lot of blur. We had fun shooting this one though so I really liked it.

I like the strong sense  symmetry in this image. The lighting is strong in the center  and the ghosting gets stronger on the outside  and center of the image witch helps show the symmetry of the image.

Multiple Exposure

IMG_9633

This photo was one of the ideas for our story where we had someone randomly give birth to a coat. It was amusing to shoot and it came out better than expected. The shutter speed setting was set to bulb, which worked together with the strobe light to create different still frames. We learned that the amount of times we “popped” the light would add motion blur, so we limited the amount of times we flashed the light to create sharp stills.

This is my favorite photo. The motion is perfect in this image, it seems to be a perfect circle. In the center of the photo the light is highly exposed. This works really well in the photo. Also her sleeves look like a ripple found in water when something is dropped into it. Overall I had a fun time working on these types of photos today and would definitely like to take photos like this in the future.

Multiple Exposure

This image is one of my favorites from the multiple exposure series.  I feel like this image captures movement well and tells a unique story. It is a nicely composed, low key image. The movement going on in the left side of the frame immediately grabs the viewers attention.
