Newbie seeking advice!

Hey all! My name is Dez. I’m a first year transfer at City Tech and I’m going to Disney Aug. 5th! For alumni–could you give me any advice? What is it like commuting between work and dorms? How were you able to bond with roommates? Did any of you explore outside the park/Orlando city? Did you any of you cook meals? What was your relationship with your leaders like? Were any of you servers? What was that like?

    Dear Dez,

This is Joe, I participated in the Disney College Program and I have to say that it is the best experience I have ever had!

I loved being able to work and go to the Disney parks (for free) everyday. Being able to learn how to live with different people is exciting and challenging. Remember that you will be living with people of different personalities, cultures, and values but RESPECT is the key.

PLEASE FOLLOW EVERY DISNEY RULES IS YOU want to succeed!

You will find “acquaintances” that might ask you to do things that are not part of Disney’s rules or values, DO NOT DO IT!

Please, write your weekly papers, do not leave it for the end!

Take 30 minutes to 1 hour to write your post, take picture and enjoy every moment!

Please, be friendly, openminded and network with everyone overthere. It is all about networking and exchanging socialmedia and emails.

I personally cooked every week but I used to go out also. The moeny is not expensive overthere.
The classes are very fun and the professors are very welcoming just as the entire Disney crew is!

Adapting to the whole Disney Program system might be challenging but absolutely rewarding. Right after I came back I applied for a Hilton Hotel and all they asked was about my Disney Experience, en I got the job

I really hope you enjoy the program and network,

Remember, it is all about LEARNING, LIVING, abd EARNING
