As discussed in previous posts, your Unit 2 Annotated Bibliography will have an introductory section that comes before the Source Entries you are reviewing this week. Here is the description from Annotated Bibliography assignment page:
Introductory Section
At least 300 words that:
- Introduce your research question
- Explain how you got interested in your question and/or why you are interested
- Perhaps you’ll give a short narrative or talk about your relationship with the overall subject
- Explain what you expect to find in your research (a hypothesis)
- Remember, you will write the research paper/project in the next Unit 3. Right now you are only introducing the bibliography. You are not writing an essay!
- Explain what you will do if you find something that doesn’t fit your hypothesis as you continue your research in the upcoming Unit 3.
- Write this introductory in paragraph format (1-3 paragraphs)
Pro Tip: Starting the Concluding Section
One way I recommend approaching the Introductory Section, is going back to the brainstorming you did on the Know-Want-Learn Exercise a couple of weeks ago.You could even go back to the link and see the questions again. If you’ve changed your mind on your topic, you could brainstorm the questions again with your new ideas.
If you need a refesher, here is a video presentation on the full assignment: Video Presentation: Overview of Unit 2 Assignment
