BUF 2400- Product Development in Fashion

In this course, I dived into product development in the fashion industry, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the journey from conceptualization to engaging consumers. Through exploration, I uncovered how research shapes garment design and dived into the complex dynamics of trend cycles, consumer behavior, and socio-economic influences on fashion trends. I achieved several key learning objectives; I mastered listing and comprehending the stages involved in product development and apparel manufacturing, with assessments including class discussions, homework, exams, and projects. Moreover, I evaluated how strategic planning drives merchandise plans for businesses, showcasing my understanding through various class activities and assessments. Furthermore, I assessed my knowledge of mass production processes and strategies for crafting individual apparel collections, contributing through class activities, homework completion, exam performance, project involvement, and presentations. This course aimed to foster general education outcomes, by empowering me to effectively communicate ideas through various mediums, including written, oral, visual, and mathematical forms, leveraging appropriate technology. Ultimately, I honed professional-level skills in comprehensive reading, writing, and analytical thinking by actively engaging in class interactions, completing assignments, homework, term papers, and presentations.
