In my research, I have discovered many things that cause learning loss within students. I was surprised by some of the things I have learned while researching my topic. For example, school systems were plagued by racial and socioeconomic injustice according to Sarah Mershov. I have a better understanding of why students are performing so poorly. I decided to study this topic because I feel like it’s an issue that should be brought up way more. I personally have not seen many people speak on the topic of learning loss. I find it very bizarre how little this topic is spoken on and I hope in the near future we are able to conquer one of the biggest problems students and schools are currently facing.
