The concept of parenthood is an idea that has left me thinking many of time. Although I don’t see myself being a parent anytime soon, watching a baby grow over the course of the years is something that fills me to the brim with joy. That sense of joy is always present whenever I see my nephew and seeing how much he’s grown over the past 3 years is mind blowing, leaving me wondering how his must parents feel as well. Although he may be growing older, I’ll be able to witness that sense of joy again with the birth of my niece.

I have not found an article nor a topic that I am interested in writing about for Project 2

“The Lottery” by Shirley Jackson is a short story about an annual event that occurs in a small village, although the manner in which the ritual takes place has changed over the years, the overall concept remains the same. The people of the village, an estimated 300 people, have their names placed in a decrepit black box, afterwards the people of the village make their way towards box one by one until the “winner” of the lottery is found. Once the lottery is finished, the one with the piece of paper that contains the black dot is stoned to death.
