The reason why I chose “Electric Cars Vs Engine Cars” as my topic is mainly because I am passionate about cars. More importantly, I wanted to shed light on the part that people tend to forget when it comes to the whole “switching to electric cars movement”, that is electric cars have its downside as well. The first thing that immediately comes to mind, is the carbon monoxide emissions from the car batteries that contributes to the greenhouse effect. Yes, compared to engine cars it was way less, however, this is where it gets interesting. Switching to electric cars will tremendously increase the nation’s current usage. Unfortunately, majority of the country still depends on burning coals and fossil fuels, etc to generate electricity. This does way more damage to the atmosphere than engine cars. Moreover, electric cars require additional materials and resources to be manufactured, and in production of those materials results in an increase of carbon footprint.
