A day at the beach

As a child I had only ever gone to the beach about three times in my life. One of the three times I went was when I was taken on a family vacation to Puerto Rico. It was a beautiful day and I remember being so surprised by how clean the water was in comparison to here in New York. I was scared to go into the ocean because I could not swim at all. My younger sister also could not swim so we both stood on the sand with our mother. We had Disney princess themed toys for the beach, things like buckets, and shovels. Anything we needed for making a sand castle we had. We were at the beach for a good few hours and I recall just trying to make the perfect sand castle the whole time. We werent very sure how to make one or how to stop the sand from just collapsing and all falling back down. In the end we had a very small and strange looking structure we had accepted as our castle. We were very impressed with ourselves and our subpar castle. It was fun to make something even if it did not go according to plan. Just spending time on a nice beach with my sister working together to have fun and create something was enough to keep us both entertained the whole time.
