Free Write At The Beach

I guess you can argue that im at the beach every day since every day you can find me somewhere down coney island. Every long day and every dark night i can be found up and down mermaid ave. But its ironic that living by new yorks most iconic beach is not  – a day at the beach at all. People see the rides, the stands with games, the restaurants, the sand and water but what a lot of people dont see is the real coney island. The coney island i know. Every day, literally every day, you can see homeless laid out down blocks, drunks half conscious on corners and in alley ways, people asking for money, candles for those who have passed lined up block after block after block, and for some who have passed, murals on walls. But its not all bad…
