There are many different communities that many would not realize that they’re from one. One of the languages in a community many people I know are apart of is slang. Every language has a slang whether it’s Spanish, English, etc. Slang is something you use in the streets but not in a professional setting. For example, in the article “HERS”, the language she was using was medical term. If she used medical terms anywhere else but the medical field, many would have a difficult time understanding what she’s trying to say.  In every community, there is a time and place to use a certain language.

I’ve heard a lot about Trujillo growing up and I have never heard something good about him. I would say I’m a believer about the fuku tails. Many people would call it a different name like karma, what comes around goes around. I would understand why people believed that fuku was on Trujillo side but also why him? Why did fuku pick him? He was like anyone else poor living in Santo Domingo that ended up becoming a dictator. But regardless of anyone’s wealth, rich or poor Trujillo treated everyone the same. Growing up I have heard about fuku but they weren’t considered fuku. They were just another story that happened to that person. What I find difficult is how did fuku become what it is and why do people believe it was because of Trujillo. Their were a lot of dictators that were bad in some sort of way but nobody every questioned it had to be fuku. I feel like to be a believer of fuku you would have to have went through something that would be considered fuku. But people would rather do things like Zafa to not go through it and avoid fuku.

I never had a problem or issue with my name and its pronunciation, but I have got to know many people with unique names from different cultures. I always enjoyed this because different languages have different ways of saying certain things. The video and article was very inspiring and it opened my eyes to learn and pronounce peoples name the way they want it to be said. My name is a common name that sometimes I don’t have to tell people how to say it . But in Spanish its sound very different and from my experience when certain people hear it they would rather say it in Spanish then English. I was never treated differently because of my name or where I come from.
